Circle of Light – Art Vision Contest

The Circle of Light Moscow International Festival is an annual event at which light designers and 2D and 3D graphic designers utilize the urban space of Moscow as canvas for multimedia and light installations.

The organizer of the Festival is the Department of Mass Media and Advertising of the City of Moscow. For the Circle of Light Festival Russian and international designers and artists produce light and multimedia shows, creating projection mapping on the facades of the most notable buildings, cultural monuments and other facilities in Moscow as well as integrate their creative ideas into the architecture of the city. Entrance to any Festival venue is free.

ART VISION is a competition of projection mapping and VJing attracting professionals and aspiring artists from all over the world. The competition is annually held as part of the Circle of Light Moscow International Festival.

In 2015 both ART VISION and the Circle of Light Festival has extensively celebrated their fifth anniversary. ART VISION is a milestone event of the Circle of Light Festival – each year the Competition is being entered by more and more participants from various continents.

Four years ago, in 2011, the first ever ART VISION Competition was held between the Russian contestants only. In 2012 teams from CIS countries applied for entering. The third competition was entered by 35 designers from 13 countries. And last year ART VISION Competition was split into 3 nominations: Classic Projection Mapping, Modern and VJing. More than 50 works from 24 countries competed in 2014!

This year more than 100 designers and studios from 26 countries (Italy, Germany, Hungary, France, UK, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Russia and many more) entered ART VISION.

The entry works has been judged by a professional jury chaired by Patrick Woodroffe, an English light designer. Along Mr. Woodroffe Boris Edelstein, co-founder of world known Mapping Festival in Geneva and production company GarageCube, Romain Tardy from ANTIVJ Label and other notable designers has judged the contestants’ works.
